for Discover Sailing Asia & Quarterdeck

Gordon Maxted's Young 88 Shoon Fung Too returned to form to clinch Race 8 and Calvin Lim Zhi Yang's well sailed J24 Quarterdeck solidified their Class B lead by winning Race 9. Back on the pace for Race 10, Yong's Discover Sailing Asia - Getaway Ichi claimed overall Class A victory on their first outing in anger, on the new ride. After pushing hard all regatta and scoring several 2nd places, Kurt Metzger's Nelson 10 Waka Tere finally overcame the hurdle and won the final Race 11. This juggling of results, bought Yang's J24 Quarterdeck back into contention with second overall and elevates Metzger's Waka Tere into third overall in the combined Class A.
Top performance by Kurt Metzger's Nelson 10 Waka Tere managed to tie them on 18 points with, Calvin Lim Zhi Yang's J24 Quarterdeck but broken in favour of Quarterdeck, as they have more wins on the scoreboard and ultimately claim overall victory in Class B. Today's windy conditions also promotes Gordon Maxted's Young 88 Shoon Fung Too into third overall on the comeback trail.
Trophies were also presented to the Optimist, Laser and Radio Controlled boats by the Batam Tourism Minister and other government officials.
