Blue Water Rally 2001 - 3 to visit Singapore
The latest (fourth) Blue Water Round the World Cruising Rally (2001-3) will set sail from Gibraltar on 28 October 2001.  With 16 yachts from 8 nations taking part, this cruising-only event promises to be a great success.  The organisers expect a sizeable number of yachtsmen from "downunder" and South-East Asia to join the fleet before they arrive in Nongsa Point Marina in Batam from 17-21 November 2002 and will then be hosted by the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club from 22-26 November 2002.

The Blue Water Rally has been hosted by Nongsa Point Marina during its 3 previous circumnavigations. However, this will be the first time that the Rally has made a stopover in Singapore itself. We were delighted to receive an invitation from the RSYC and, in particular, to be able to use their new Club premises and marina at West Coast Park.

The Blue Water Rally will arrive with some 20 cruising yachts, ranging from an Oyster 70 to a 38 ft steel cutter. Yacht crews will not only benefit from the magnificent new facilities at the RSYC, but visits to downtown Singapore have always been a major highlight of our world Rally and this year will be no exception.

We are also keen to hear from any cruising yachtsmen who may wish to join the Rally in Singapore and continue with us further along the Rally route.

Regular details are posted on the Blue Water Rally's website www.yachtrallies.co.uk
with news, photographs and stories from the participants as they circle the world. E-mail Pandarally@aol.com

Kindest regards,
Peter Seymour
