On Sponsorship Drive, let the good times roll...
A good example would have been presenting Ray Roberts TP52 Team Hollywood, after scoring 8 bullets at Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek, to end up the Highest Scorer in the AYGP Rankings, with a suitably emblazoned Cap or Gold Sash and keeping in line with the Grande Prix tradition, a bottle of champagne to celebrate with.
To help implement these ideas, we are looking for overall or individual event Sponsors and an increase in website and monthly newsletter Advertisers, interested in getting involved and promoting their products and services, directly to a high end Asian and International audience.
Shamelessly claiming to be the "Hardest Sports Trophy to Win in Asia" the eventual winners, will have to spearhead a racing campaign, that wins at least 4 regional regattas, plus be on the podium for 2 more, to make up their 6 event point scoring tally and sit on top of the AYGP Rankings, before they can take the titles home. This is no easy task as 330 Skippers and Yachts competed last season at 13 selected regattas, conducted in 7 Asian countries.
The key to success for top racing teams, at any AYGP point scoring event, is similar to that in most other sporting events: Precision in Execution. Get everything absolutely right and leave the opposition with no weakness to exploit and magnify the impact of their errors, however small.
The crew that executes the highest level of accuracy, at six Asian regattas, will ultimately go on to claim the AYGP Skipper and Yacht of the Year, don the Trend Fashions navy blue blazer, presented with the Perpetual AYGP Cup filled with champagne, at the gala season ending, Samui Regatta prize presentation, in May each year.
No other region in the world, conducts an annual ranking system for the regional big boat Skippers and Yachts and we are looking for partners, that are proud to support the same values of 'Precision in Execution' and carrying on this unique point scoring system into the future.
Things have just got more interesting, as the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club announced, Karl Kwok’s MOD 70 Beau Geste and Seng Huang Lee’s Orma 60 SHK Scallywag Fuku (Ex Team Australia) are going head to head, on short courses at the China Coast Regatta (October 12th - 14th) and vying for line honours, to set a new Race Record on the 390nm downwind 26th edition of the Hong Kong to Hainan Race (Starting October 18th).
Over the years pleasure yachting has come a long way in China, as the 12th China Cup International Regatta (November 8th - 12th) has been extended by a day and with 100+ yachts contesting, takes over the role, with the most boats entered at an Asian regatta.
If you know any companies that would benefit from exposure, with an onslaught of high-octane racing action, that extends through Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong and China this season, follow the directions below.
