Roberts reclaims the lead in the AYGP
Second place in the highly competitive Beneteau 40.7 class, has catapulted Ray Roberts back into the lead, in the AYGP Skipper Rankings, after contesting regattas on both the Western and Eastern Circuits
Four race wins in the IRC Division A2 for Tiffany Koo, would normally be enough to be tied at the top with Ray Roberts, but having only 4 yachts in the class, she has to settle on 2nd overall, while her King Mills 40 Hero Racing Team, takes over top spot in the AYGP Yacht Rankings, as Ray Roberts has raced on two different yachts.
Overall victory for Nick Southward's J-109 Whiskey Jack in IRC Division C at the China Cup, added onto 2nd place at the China Coast Regatta, elevates them into 3rd overall in the AYGP Skipper Rankings and 2nd in the AYGP Yacht Rankings.
As racing now swings over to SE Asia to complete the Western Circuit, for the Raja Muda Selangor Int Regatta (Nov 16th - 24th), Phuket King's Cup (Dec 1st - 8th), Royal Langkawi Int Regatta (January 7th - 12th) and the Neptune Regatta (February 2nd - 9th), last seasons AYGP Skipper and Yacht of the Year, Fred Kinmonth/Nick Burns GTS 43 Mandrake III and early front runners Niels Degenkolw's X3/4 Ton MK2 Phoenix, and John Newnham's Twin Sharks, all have chances at improving their AYGP Rankings and will be interesting to see how things pan out for them and others joining in the battle.
