LOCATION

As Admiral Marina & Leisure Club enjoys a commanding presence on Port Dickson's finest stretch of beach. It was chosen to be the venue for the XXI South East Asian Games sailing competition held in Malaysia from the 8th - 16th Sept 2001. The marina facility has been completed for a few years now and some of the regions finest racing yachts have set up base there and regularly compete on the races organised by the Racing Yacht Club.

Port Dickson, the town is approx. 5 miles to the north of the marina and has been long noted as the West Coast's most popular seaside get away on the weekends due to Kuala Lumpur being only 70-80 minutes drive away inland. Geographically south of the marina and jutting out into the Malacca Straits Cape Rachardo or Tangong Tuan as it is now called (see chart) is a strategically located heading and turning point that ship captains and crew over the centuries have aimed for as they move up and down the busy straits. Port Dickson, with it's easy access to both KL and the KLIA is connected by highway, air, rail ... and now SAIL thanks to Admiral Marina.

How to get there?

International visitors should fly into Malaysia to the Kuala Lumpur Int. Airport (KLIA) then proceed to Pt Dickson by public transport or taxi (about RM50) as it is closer to PD than Kuala Lumpur from the new airport.
