1. Christmas cheers to all, Selamat Hari Raya Adilfitri to our Muslim friends and have a happy and prosperous New Year where ever you are on the earth's surface. Hope you enjoyed the AsianYachting.com Race Reports on the South East Asian (SEA) Regatta Circuit so far this year. For those that have missed them the Asean, RMIR and Kings Cup 2000 regatta's reports can be viewed from the http://AsianYachting.com website.

2. Next up is the Singapore Straits Regatta, from 09 to 14 January 2001. The Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions are hosted on the website http://www.straitsregatta.com and they can be contacted by e-mailing secretariat@straitsregatta.com As this is a cross-border event requiring sailing permits to Indonesia, participants are advised to get their forms in as early as possible to avoid the eleventh hour rush for clearance. Those without a valid 'green book' for cruising in the Riau Islands should allow at least 10 days (preferably more) for the paperwork. Surf up and get updated.

3. If you want to combine some spectacular scenery, lively parties and a sailing regatta, this coming Chinese New Year (24-27 January) go to the Phuket - Phang Nga - Krabi Regatta website.  It should appeal to the serious, the not-so-serious and the not-at-all-serious 'racing' sailors passing through this region.

4. The President's Cup Regatta 2001 is scheduled for the 4th to the 11th of March on Subic Bay, Luzon in the Philippines. Their new website is up and running so click on http://www.manilayachtclub.org/prescup/ or contact Jerry Rollin for more info.

5. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is proud to announce the inclusion of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston's Times Clipper fleet of 8 round the world yachts for the San Fernando Race 2001. It is considered one of Asia's classic offshore races held bi-annually to San Fernando in the Philippines and is a major event for yachtsmen and an important sporting event for Hong Kong. It has been held over the Easter period since 1975 (every odd year) and has attracted interest from serious sailors both locally and internationally. View their recent press release at the AsianYachting homepage or go directly to http://asianyachting.com/news/SanFern.htm
